Technology + Education

In the course of "studying for a test" or "preparing for an exam", you or a child has probably passed on a video of some cute kittens instead or the latest music parody.

Realizing that more people have a higher retention and interest in videos, more and more people are looking to combine education and videos. One of the more interesting examples of this trend is SchoolTube.

Similar to Youtube, SchoolTube offers videos that can be watched for free and shared. The site offers materials for grades K-12. All the offered videos covered a wide range of educational topics including math, science and history. Some are even delivered in hilarious yet informal ways, such as rap videos (check out A Rap About France).

The St. Louis based company was started in 2007 by a father and son. The site now has over 400,000 videos with at least one repetitive from the over 40,000 schools across the United States. It is also closely monitored to ensure all the content is appropriate and school related.

Visit SchoolTube's website for more info or to see some of their great, educational videos. Who knows, maybe one day videos about US presidents will replace cats!
